Going the Distance with Math

As we approach the start of the school year, I like to set a new goal for myself. Just one to focus and hone so that I can be a better educator for my students.
In the past I have worked on classroom management, flipped classroom, student voice and student choice. This year, I would like to bring social justice into my math curriculum by helping students first see different cultures's contribution to math, then how math is useful, and finally asking students to apply math that they have learned and share that via video (FlipGrid, Screencastify, Adobe Spark, and/or WeVideo) presentation at the end of the school year.
