With Random Act of Kindness Week approaching in about a week's time, here are my plans to help my students become RAKtivists (Random Acts of Kindness Activists). You can join the fun (with this "Box of Random Acts of Kindness Chocolates" slide deck) yourself as well, here are more resources from randomactsofkindness.org!
In the past, I have given my students the opportunities to count their blessings the week before Thanksgiving Break as well as writing a small note to thank the people in their lives. Right before Winter Break, students are again given another opportunities to reflect via Mickey Ornament (Winter 2021), where students write what they're thankful for and set up their SMART Goal(s) for the following year. With COVID-19 pandemic, these grateful notes are more important than ever. I want my students take moments to reflect and be thankful for what they have. We focus on the positives and improve upon ourselves day after day and year after year.
Please feel free to take and share what I have created here and let's grow together! If you do these activities with your students, please feel free to share some photos of you and your students' work with me!
